"I just wanted to send you a quick e-mail to let you know how much I appreciate your nutritional and fitness advice...
Since meeting with you I have so far dropped 16 pounds. More importantly, my blood cholesterol levels are now normal. I had stopped taking cholesterol medication in July in hopes that I could regulate it with diet and exercise. I went to see my doctor over the Christmas holidays to have my blood retested. Here are my new numbers.

Ratio = 6.3
LDL = 3.31
HDL = 0.89
Triglycerides = 3.17
Total cholesterol = 5.64

Needless to say this is a nice payoff.

The weight loss has made a significant difference [while cycling]. I use a Polar HRM when I ride that also gives me the cyclo-computer functions and altitude. It's a fantastic device. I am able to download the information from a ride into my computer to track progress. There are a couple of circuits that I ride specifically to track my progress. I didn't need the computer to tell me how much better I was riding. I could just feel the difference. I was able to maintain a lower (much more efficient) riding position for longer periods. When I compare my rides this year to the same rides at the same time of last year, my average speed is up by almost 3 KMh. This is in the same heart rate range, so it's not that I was working harder, just better. I have the HRM set so my target range is from 150 to 170 bpm. I like to ride at around 160 bpm. The biggest difference in feel on on hill climbing. When you think about it, the 16 pounds that I have lost is the equivilant to the weight of my bike.

The weather has been good. Last week I was able to get out three times."

"Have you ever felt like going to the gym was a chore? You know the benefits but you still don't like it!  I have...my solution - Jason Haug!

You see, I don't exercise anymore and I wasn't surprised when Jason had a questioning look on his face when I share this with him during my 1st consultation.  Why was I meeting with him if I don't exercise?  I proceeded in explaining to Jason that the word "exercise" was a bad word for me, it generates feelings of discouragement, apprehension and intimidation to name a few.  Since I don't like those feelings, I've decided to replace "exercising" with physical activities that bring me positive feelings such as joy, peacefulness and challenges, but I still needed some guidance so that I didn't huff & puff or feel lots of aches & pains after those activities.  That's where Jason came in.
